Could not have said it better myself…..I, too went through several years of being a professional patient; gained 60 pounds in six months…..I KNOW there was an emotional component to my random illnesses and just wanted someone to fix it quick……..I also intuitively knew CrossFit was the program for me the first time I read about it!!! May not be for everyone, but for whatever makes my weird brain tick, there is NO other workout program! Have lost 40 pounds from my heaviest……28 pounds since beginning CrossFit and 18 pounds since hopping off the denial train about my food consumption.
Keep up the good work!!

Hey Bryan:
I have been thinking about what you said in the workout this morning. You stated that over the week end you all decided that we could cut out a lot of sickness and other stuff if people would get off their butts and workout.
I am still in awe of the changes in my body and even mental state since coming to Crossfit. As I have told you I have always exercised and been in the gym. However; the level of work and way I have been pushed by you all has changed the game for me physically.
This time last year I was seeing so many doctors for so many issues. Now, prior to this I NEVER had the need to go to the doctor, but stress and grief (the passing of my son’s father) just had me in a rut. I was seeing a gastro doctor; a pain specialist for my back and shoulder and mysterious pain in my right leg; and a cardiologist. I have had an MRI; stress test; frequent cortisone shots; colonoscopy; and a myriad of exams. Do you know that I just finally made a decision to get better and of course prayed, and God really showed me the root of everything happening to me.
Crossfit has been the key component of all of my healing (even mentally). I literally can’t wait to the next time..and the next time..etc.to work out. Everyone is so wonderful and the staff is just top notch! I just want to encourage all of you to keep doing what you are doing. Thank you for everything. I feel fantastic. I pray for you all constantly to stay healthy so we can keep gleaning from you.
Oh my goodness! Everything is great. I am over the moon excited for each workout. I am getting stronger and after only 6 workouts, I feel and kind of see a difference. I have been working out since I was 12 and trained for many a fitness events, but this by far has left me speechless. I am surprised at the short amount of time is takes to get such good results. I use to spend 2 or more hours in the gym. But I didn’t have a plan so I never saw results.Keep doing what you are doing. Get tougher if you like. I am looking for some “cuts” by spring. Thanks so much for everything. You are a blessing..

Hey Bryan, Amy, Shauna, Jason & Kamie,
I just want to say thanks for the incredible results I’ve had in just 11 weeks. My goal was to lose 25 pounds and I’m already down 19 as of this morning. I’ve lost about 3 inches in my waist and my energy level is up (of course so is the soreness factor, but I can live with that). I can’t believe the muscle tone I’ve already developed. CrossFit is the toughest workout I’ve ever done, but with the trainers and the camaraderie of the group workouts, it is also the most fun I’ve had working out. I love it!!Thank you all for your help, example and encouragement. BTW - I’ve been doing the “Body For Life” diet by Bill Phillips. It is something that has worked well in the past for me and is working well now, especially in conjunction with the CrossFit workouts.

“I’m Johnny Rucker, a 59 year old active older adult that has always tried to stay active and love the outdoors. About 2 months ago I joined the Crossfit Pulse Program here in McDonough to see if I could drop a few pounds and just get in a little better shape. I have been very impressed with the results I’ve seen over the past 60 days. All the trainers are very supportive and I think they are good at working with folks at all levels of ability. All of the participants , usually 12 to 15, seem to push each other which is a huge advantage over trying to workout on your own or even with just one other partner. I plan on keeping the crossfit program in my weekly workout. So far I’ve lost 15 lbs. and I’ve had several people comment on the fact that I look like I’ve lost some weight. I do know that if I miss a few days of going to Crossfit now , I can tell the difference in how I feel. I play a lot of golf and I honestly feel like it has helped my golf game. I highly recommend anyone who wants to get in shape and drop a few pounds come out and try the program.”
What CrossFit has meant to me:
I am a High School Football Coach and was out of shape until I found CrossFit. CrossFit has been one of the greatest exercise programs I have ever come across. The program has brought to me something that I have always looked for in an exercise program. I was an athlete all my life through High School and College, I did what it took to get by to keep the coaches happy and did enough to help me perform. As I got older I always wanted to stay in shape and I tried but I always became bored with my workout program whether it was going to the gym or working out on my own at the house. CrossFit changed that. I am in the best shape of my life, I am the strongest I have ever been in my life, and I look forward to going to the gym each day to find out what the workout is going to be and competing against my friends at the gym.
CrossFit brings a level of variety, competition, and drive that I have never found before in a workout program. It’s always a new exercise or WOD that challenges you to do your best. You are always competing against your other partners and the clock to do your best, and when a workout that you have done before rolls around, you compete to beat your previous time. If you are a competitor and you strive to be in the best shape of your life, CrossFit is for you.

CrossFit Challenges Me to Face Each Day
Since starting CrossFit in 2007 after reading an article in Men’s Journal, I can honestly say I am in the best overall shape of my life. Then going to a Level I certification class last January in Santa Cruz pulled it all together. The challenges you face each day with the workouts keep the whole thing fun and competitive. My goal each year is to be able to catch the first lift up at Breckenridge in the morning, smoke the back bowls all day, and try to time the last lift up in the afternoon then head over to Keystone for some night boarding (in short I want to wear my son out), and to do this for six or seven days in a row. So far I have accomplished that goal each winter.

If you combine a realistically proper diet, along with a competitive desire to push yourself beyond what you think is possible, you will begin to look at the active life a little differently. Stop talking, start doing.

What I Love About CrossFit
From a personal perspective, the aspect I love most about Crossfit is it measures ones resolve—the ability to finish something strong and never quit. I want my resolve tested everyday. I want to be pushed to the limits everyday. Give me something that requires intensity everyday. Give me something hard to do that the common man isn’t doing. It gets me going. I’m ready to go after 6:15 workout sessions. I’ve just conquered the worse thing that will happen to me in my day…so let’s go. Today is a great day and opportunity waits! What else can I conquer today! What can I do to get better! That is how Crossfit triggers my brain!
Most people lack resolve. Quitting and not trying hard are becoming normal and the thing to do. To be brutally honest I can’t stand people like that. I can’t be around them. You won’t find too many of those people working out when we do. I am very curious to see who will quit when the going gets tough; who will allow someone to come from behind and beat them when they are the far superior physical talent; who will cheat on their reps so others will think they are something they are not? Crossfit separates the mentally weak from the pack—and in our pack we have no room for the mentally weak.
As a football coach, I love crossfit for the reasons I mentioned above. I can’t say that we are going to have the most talented football team in the state of GA. However, we can coach our guys to be the most mentally tough and intense football team in the state. Crossfit allows us to do this. We can say that we never lost a game in the fourth quarter last year. We won in the fourth. Once again, this is a test of resolve. Where did our kids learn to push through and persevere? We did crossfit three times a week during the season. They were in shape; they were tough; they got after it when the other team was sucking wind. I can’t promise it will be the same this year, but I can promise we will be doing crossfit during the season to ensure we have trained ourselves to win and never quit in the fourth quarter. If you beat us, it’s because you were better or we made mistakes, it’s not because we got outworked. I get jacked up thinking about…let’s go to work right now!
